 More info

INDIANA PHOENIX ) Brian Cain Born; 26-08-53 in Essex England . Came to Australia in August 1969 by himself, joining a brother already living in Australia. Detached from direct family after a short period.

Became roadie for Adelaide bands such as The Bucket and Marshall Mainline in the early seventies. Joined Adelaide band The Others as vocalist in 1979 with the stage name cowboy for 2 years then forming his own band Terra Firma in October 1982 playing with several different line ups for 4 years and recording an EP Power Blues in 1986 with Adelaide band The Giants recently transferred from vinyl onto disc and released as Indiana Phoenix and the Burning.

Played with a myriad of people and bands over the last 20 years in Australia and overseas and blesses Phil Manning for helping him develop and keep his art alive especially during the years of the disco onslaught when loud RnB bands struggled to survive.

Singer/Songwriter Blues Harp player, self taught vocalist assisted in early stages by Opera teachers in Adelaide Australia. Favorite instrument; Blues harmonica. Cannot remember how long has played one remembers having one at school and developing the reed bend early in life. Spent my entire life developing a unique style and sound.

Fortunate enough to know Lee Brilleux of British Band Doctor Feelgood when at school listening to then play in a bar at the top of Pier Hill in Southend-on-sea England and practicing in a garage on Canvey island when Wilko Johnson was in the band showed me the music I would learn to love. Other instruments played; Guitar and Drums. First drum kit was purchased from Steve Hopgood ex Masters Apprentices in Adealide about 1976 whilst he was a member of Marshall Mainline.

I have learnt guitar over the last few years currently using a Col Clark fat lady. Diagnosed one year ago with depression with an estimated history of 30 years made sense and been a truly rewarding experience as I had plenty of opportunities to advance my musical career in the 80s but struggled to communicate eventually just making it a hobby. Accepting the fact I had depression and undergoing treatment has completely turned life around. Phoenix studios and 2 acoustic albums The 4 th bedroom and Homeland in less than 6 months of installing a studio in my home. I am determined that any musical talent in my young children will not go to waste and have them perform with me although currently only 2 and 5 years old. .
