ALEX LEGG, Scottish born songwriter & singer, cut his teeth on the ballads & fishing songs of his native North-east Scotland. Based out of London UK and in Melbourne, Australia, he has worked club, festival & acoustic venues all over UK and in Holland, Scandinavia and Germany. ARTICULATE SONG-WRITING has won him acclaim.
The British Academy of Songwriters, Composers & Authors (BASCA) gave his song, “Too Many Children” the ‘BEST OF THE BEST’ award at The LONDON SONGWRITERS SHOWCASE. He has collaborated with Nashville writers, Larry Henley (Wind Beneath My Wings), John Beeby (Dreamtime - Daryl Hall), Phil Madeira (Alison Kraus, Garth Brooks), Hunter Moore, Casey Kelly (Kenny Rogers, Joe Diffie), Margaret Becker & Billy Sprague.
Since arriving in Australia in 2003, Alex has played at the Maldon Festival, the Whole Gamut Acoustic Club, Carlton Folk Club, Clifton Hill Hotel, Nash Hotel & Boite World Music Café. Invited to play 2 dates at the Brunswick Festival, he opened shows for Emily Smith & Kristina Olsen.
